Sinful Colors Innocent Konad-ing With M60

I am trying to get my nail polishing back on track.  The last time I did a Konad was...ummm...oh my...back in August.  That doesn't seem right but the pictures and dates don't lie.  But that is the past let's talk about the present.

I love argyle and I have done this print before with different colors but argyle is what I was in the mood for so here you have it:

Zoya Veruschka- argyle print
Konad Plate - M60

You can see where the stamping didn't quite make it in some areas but overall I am pleased.  Who really ever gets all that close to my nails anyway.

Claire's Neon Burst

Wow, can you say bright.  I can honestly say I don't think I have ever worn a color this bright.  The funny thing is the pictures don't even show how bright it really is.  The downside to all this brightness is it took about 7 coats to get it completely opaque but it dries really fast so.  I did throw a coat of Wet N Wild White Creme on my index and ring finger to determine if the number of coats it would take was different.  Maybe by one coat so I would just rather not do it since the Wet N Wild seems to take a while to dry.  You can tell the diffence in the photo but I couldn't see as much of a difference in real life.

After doing this I thought it needed to be jazzed up a bit.  Really?  A color this bright need more attention brought to it!!  Why of course.  Why not set these fingertips ablaze.  With a little help from BundleMonster plate BM12 and Konad Special Polish in Red  I think I got a fiery fingernail.

This mani was a little over the top for me so it didn't even last a whole day.  It was just something fun to do something out of my ordinary picks.

My First Bundlemonster Mani!!

So here it is. My very first BundleMonster mani. Honestly it is not a full mani, it is just the right hand. I tried so many different things on my left hand I just decided to figure out what I liked and do it on my right hand and take some pictures. If you remember my post on Zoya Dea I asked for suggestions on what colors would look good with this. My initial thought was a mint green or pastel pink. Rmcandlelight *I'm wearing China Glaze Stella* of Nails Beautiqued chimed in and though that adding white to either of those colors would make it "pop". ABOP from Another Bottle of Polish thought teal would go well.

Let me tell you, I tried for at least an hour to come up with a pink, mint green, or teal that actually showed up well on this polish. Everything seemed like it was washed out. ABOP was absolutely right about the white making it pop.

Anyway, I tried layering Hidden Treasure over it which looked very pretty but I wanted to use my BundleMonster plates. I also layered Sally Hansen HD Hue over it and that looked pretty nice as well. When it was all said and done this is what I ended up with.



So who knew this yellow holo polish over Zoya Dea would produce this subtle holo greenish color. For the record the Sally Hansen HD Hue looks more yellow if you do a normal layer over tope of Dea.



Anyway I am tired after experimenting around so much so I think I am going to call it at night. By the way these pics were taken indoors this evening. I'll see if I can get a sunlight pic tomorrow if the sun manages to peep through the clouds. Good night!!

Finally Did A Konad Again..

I feel like it has been forever since I have done a Konad. Coming from doing one every 2-3 days to recently seeming like every 2-3 weeks it is my forever. On to eye candy because I know that is what you are waiting for.

For this Konad I used Sally Hansen Sea and Be Seen as the basecoat. Using Konad plate s6 and Zoya Ibiza I did a single stamp on each finger. Whoa, what a pain to try and get these centered. My trick for this print was to focus on the line down the middle of the image and try to get that down the middle of my nail. I did my right hand first since I never photo that one. Sad to say my left hand is better than the right hand I am still not totally pleased with the left. You will notice that I tried double stamping my ring finger. That is the longest nail so why not do something a little different.

What made me really happy is the checkout lady at the grocery store told me she liked my nails. She went on to ask if I get them done in my area. I let her in that I do them myself.

Don't you love when you get compliments on your nails and people think you had them done by someone else. Made my day!!!

KOTD: Iris I Was Thinner & S6

Here ya have it, the Konad I did with the Sephora by OPI Iris I Was Thinner. In addition to the Iris I Was Thinner I used Wet & Wild French White Creme. Looking back I probably should have just used the Konad Special polish in White. The Wet & Wild as you can see from the pics is a bit to thin which means it dried a little to fast and didn't transfer as well as the Konad Special Polish probably would have (which is the exact reason they have special polish..duh). This is the first time I have used this pattern which is on the S6 plate. I like it even though it didn't turn out so well. Total user error though.

Panda-monium Pink Konad

This Konad has OPI Panda-monium Pink as a base and Kleancolor Purple for the design print. I had a little trouble on my ring finger becasue of the length of my nail. The initial attempt on this nail did not work out so well as there was to much empty space at the tip of my nail. The second time around I got it lined up much better, not perfect, but better.

Looking at the picture I have no idea what that blue is on my pinky finger. I think it is a glare from the TV because I surely don't remember having to clean anything off that nail and I didn't use anything blue. Oh, and I see we have an appearance from my cell phone, my nail towel, and my lovely sweatshirt sleeve. Not the greatest picture but if you focus on the nails it will be fine.

I Blue Myself Away With M36

I hate naming my blog posts. They are all corny but whatever. With this mani I did something a little different from my norm and did a different stamp on each nail. That is out of my typical bubble but I really like the way it turned out.

For the base coat I used Sally Hansen Blue Me Away!. It is such a fun bright blue and reminds me of a nice Spring-y blue. The design was also done with another Sally Hansen XTremewear polish, Mellow Yellow. All the designs are from plate M36.

Please excuse my hangnails. They plague me like no other and I don't know what to do to keep them away. If you have any suggestions let me know.

Green Leopard..Why Not

The base color I used for this mani is Orly Green With Envy. Love this color and can't say enough about it. It is the only Orly polish I have but I want some more. Here a couple of shots. I always go back to the M57 plate and may have even done this mani before but my memory isn't the greatest.

And For the Amazon Konad

I remember when I used to Konad every time I painted my nails. I have learned to appreciate colors on their own so the Konadicure's aren't as frequent. This Konadicure uses plate m60, Creative Nail Design Amazon, and China Glaze OMG.

I can't say enough good things about this plate. This particular design is nice because they break it down and have the little flower that is in the full nail pattern as a separate stamping image.

A Little Konad TMI

So you saw the mani using China Glaze TMI (if not it is here). I feel like I always have to do a Konad for some reason. Even if it is a day or two later it feels like a brand new mani. This one was actually done on the same night but I never got to posting the picture.

To do this Konadicure I used Konad plate M36. This plate has a lot of dainty little flower designs and 2 cute butterflies. The white I used is Sally Hansen French Shell Shimmer in Naturel White.

This mani is some what blah to me but it has already started chipping so I think a new one is in order tonight (if I have time that is). Wooo hoo!!!

I'm So Fly

Not really...lol.. but China Glaze Fly was on my nails last week and what a color. Somewhere in the pink, purple, magenta, fuschia realm it give a nice pop of color to your nails. I will say this photo does not do this color justice. It is a little darker. The picture on the right is closer than the one the left but after 40 some pictures I could not get my camera to capture it perfectly.

Pretty right. Not that this polish needed any help but I am a fan of Konad so I pulled out one of my new plates. The S6 with China Glaze OMG added a little silvery goodness to the mix.

One Day Konad

This Konadicure wasn't meant to only last a day but I guess I didn't wait long enough for the top coat to dry so the next morning I had all sorts of sheet lines and grooves in my nail polish. From far away you couldn't really see it but I just kept looking at my nails in disgust. Thank goodness I try to take most of my shots immediately after my manicure.

The base of this is China Glaze Pink Underground. For the white design I used the Konad M57 plate. This plate is a staple in anyones Konad collection. The white polish used is Sally Hansen French Shell Shimmer in Naturel (this IS how it is spelled on the bottle, promise) White.

I put a few hearts in one nail in honor of the upcoming Valentine's Day. This Konad turned out fine so I am a little irked that I ended up taking it off the next day.

Keeping It Simple

This will just be a short and sweet post about my current mani. A little more subtle and plain than I am used to but I like it. I used Sinful Colors Social Ladder on my nails and Sally Hansen Xtremewear Twisted Pink for the design on Konad plate M36.

New Plates...Testing 1-2-3

A few new Konad plates came in the mail on Friday. I typically play around with them to see what the prints look like before putting them in my stash of plates for later use on a "real" manicure. The plates I picked up were the M36, M44, M60, S6. The M36 is a variety of flowers and a butterfly stamp. The M44 is french tips with designs. The majority of the stamps on the M60 and S06 are large or full nail designs.

With a quick coat of Sally Hansen XTremewear Blue Me Away! I was ready to test the M44.

This plate is not easy to use. It will take some a little more effort when trying to get the alignment correct. Not only the alignment but placing the stamp correctly so you get a uniform thickness across all of the nails. The picture displays all but one of the stamps on the plate.

The next plate I decided to experiment with was the M60. I have always adored the argyle design and have wanted this plate for some time now. After swatching a number of my burgundy and brown polishes I got to the actually stamping.

Again alignment is key. I actually like the colors used for the argyle print, all of the other ones I will opt for a different color selection but since this was just swatching and testing no worries.

I've Got Pizzaz

Yes this another post about my manicure but cut me some slack because I am doubling up and putting the mani and Konad in one post.  After taking the blue off my nails I went to one of my new colors that I hadn't tried yet.  The lovely, Nina Ultra Pro Purple Pizzaz.  I was a bit hesitant to use another Nina Ultra Pro polish because the Babi Blue took way to many coats for my liking (translated, my time).  I really wanted to do purple though so I went ahead and hoped for the best.  This is a polish I will definitely use again.  No complaints at all.  Two coats was all I needed thank goodness.

 

Isn't it it a pretty color.  This brand is on sale at Sally's Beauty Supply for the month of January.  It was $3.29, I am not sure what the regular price is.  This stayed on my nails for a few days and then I decided to get the Konad out.  It takes me too long to decide what I am going to do so I decided to use a print I haven't used before.  That lead me to the M65 plate.  The next decision to be made was what color design.  I don't have any light purple polishes, I though white would be to much of a contrast and thought that black would be too dark sooo I used the Konad Silver Princess Polish.  And here are the results:

I will say this design was eaiser to use than I thought it would be. I like the full nail designs but did notice that since my nails have grown a bit the alignment is crucial. Now I understand why so many people have french tips with the full nail designs.

On a side note: this polish really makes me crave grape soda!!!

Oh My Stars

The blue heavens have opened up. With a little push from some gals on The Purse Forum my nails are blue. The first week of January was declared blue week for your nails. With several blues on tap I did a sampling to see which one I wanted to use. Since I have used all of the other ones before I went with the Nina Ultra Pro in Babi Blue which I have not used.

I will tell you this color is pretty but it took absolutely too many coats to get it to the color seen in the picture above. Even after the 6th or 7th coat I felt like I needed at least another 5-6 coats. This obviously wasn't what I expected from this polish. Since I was disappointed I thought maybe a little Konad would cheer me up.

AND OH MY STARS, IT DID!!!

This was a lot more tedious than I intended it to be but I do like the outcome.  Stars with random placement on then nail.  Using the M3 Konad plate I stamped each nail 2-4 times to get lots of stars.  Perfect placement didn't matter on this one I just wanted lots of stars!!

So even though I was a little blue with the initial turnout I was seeing stars by the time I finished!!

Silver and Black Konad

It just dawned on me I hadn't posted my latest Konad for you viewing pleasure.  This full nail print is on Konad plate m65.  I did experiment with this pattern a while ago but only placed it on one nail.

As you can see I had some issues with getting this pattern on my nail nice and straight.  I guess it will come with more practice though.  Initially I tried using pink and purple for the print but they didn't show up properly.  Black worked out fine though.  This print was actually easier than I thought it would be.  No major issues with smudging during the stamping.  There was a little streaking when applying my top coat but other than that this Konad went fairly well.

TIP:  With the Konad Black Special Polish I have found that if you let it dry first and then scrape off what you can instead of immediately using polish remover you'll minimize the amount of staining.

Leopard of Ibiza

   
This is my Konad that I did on Sunday but have just been ridiculously lazy about posting.  I used Zoya Ibiza, which I had issues with (read here), and the Silver Princess Konad Special polish which I had issues with as well.  Maybe I was just having an off day but I tried the Silver Konad before and it just did not seem to transfer as well as some of the other special polishes.  Oh well, I forged ahead because it was late and I try at all costs to figure out what the deal is.  I didn't but, oh well.

 

Konad Experimenters Anonymous

Yes...I need help.  I like to play and experiment with the different Konad prints and colors.  The thing is I stay up super late messing around with it and then I am sleepy, sleepy, sleepy the next day.  But what can you do...keep experimenting right.  So here is my experiment with Zoya Midori.                           

   

This could get really long so I am just going to give my quick thoughts on each nail from left to right.

1. Zoya Midori all its own being absolutely fabulous.

2. Kleancolor Silver Glitter 27--Added a little bling.  I think I like the silver bling more than the gold with the Midori.  Just by a smidgen though, they both look nice.

3. NK Nail Enamel Sparkling Gold 024-- More bling, gold bling.

4. Kleancolor Black 142- this smudged a little in the middle, not sure if is the fault of the polish or me, probably the latter.  The contrast is nice though.

5. Sally Hansen French Shell Shimmer 1 Naturel White and Kleancolor Black 142-- will try this again with the Konad Special Polish, I was going for a half and half.  I put the white on the plate first and I think it ran some so when I put the black on the other half of the image there was white underneath of it.  The thicker special polish should take care of that issue though.

6.  Kleancolor Red Heart 74-- a little red and green cheetah action, it's so-so I guess, don't love it or hate it.

7.  Kleancolor Black 142-- love it, this print can probably go on any color.

8.  Kleancolor Neon Yellow 18-- this one surprised me the most.  When I initially did it I thought "this sucks, you can't even see the yellow." :-(  The more I looked at it I began to appreciate how subtle the yellow is and the simple contrast it provides.

9. Sally Hansen French Shell Shimmer 1 Naturel White-- no love for this one, I still haven't found the perfect color combo for this design.. not feeling it though.

10. Sally Hansen XTremewear Celeb City 13-- total dud!!! The silver polish I used was way to thin for the delicate lines of this print.  A silver, just not this one, will look really nice with the Midori though.
